Night attendant for an elderly parent in Jaipur
Nights are when families worry most: a fall on the way to the bathroom, a wandering parent, a missed call for help.
A night attendant stays awake and nearby through the night, helping an older person to the bathroom, turning a bedridden patient, giving prescribed medicines on time and calling the family if something is wrong. It is for planned care, not emergencies: call 108.
Signs your parent may need night help
- Getting up at night and nearly falling, or having fallen before
- Confusion or restlessness after dark
- Medicines or turning needed at night after surgery or illness
- Living alone, or with family who cannot be woken easily
What a night attendant does
- Stays in or near the room and wakes with your parent when needed
- Helps to the toilet and back safely
- Reminds about medicines already prescribed by the doctor
- Records the night in a short note that the family can read in the morning
What they do not do
Attendants do not give injections or IV drips, change doses, or handle your money. If a doctor has prescribed injections at night, a nurse visit can be added.
Talking to your parent about it
Many seniors resist help at night. It often works to start with two or three nights after an illness, to introduce the attendant in the evening, and to say plainly that it is so the family can sleep. A senior has the right to say no to a particular person.
Rest and fairness
A carer who works through the night needs rest the next day. Our scheduling applies a rest rule, so the person at your parent's bedside is alert. 24-hour care is two carers, not one. See our guides.
Cost
Night care is priced per shift. Typical Jaipur range: ₹[PRICE RANGE] per night. Prices will be published before launch.
In an emergency, call 108 (ambulance) or go to the nearest hospital. ServQ Healthcare supports planned and ongoing care at home.
